Day 1
After thinking about it for years, I finally decided to start building odds matching software.
After thinking about it for years, I finally decided to start building odds matching software.
First costs: the oddsviper domains, a Flaticon subscription and Google AI Pro. No income.

The first step. On 5 August 2025 I registered matchedbetting.au and bonusbandit.com.au.

The first version of matchedbetting.au went live. Free step by step guides for matched betting in Australia.
Claude Max. No income.

I published a lot of guides around this time. Being honest, they were not high quality.

This was bonusbandit.com.au deployed with a waitlist signup. It was part of my 'go live on day one' philosophy.
Claude Max, Laravel Forge, and odds matching software. No income.

Changed to a simple text based logo.
Claude Max, Laravel Forge and the server. No income.
Made bonusbandit.com.au live in full operational mode. Able to accept payments and run the software.
Claude Max, CapCut, Laravel Forge and the server, plus odds matching software. No income.
Posted the first video to the Matched Betting AU YouTube channel. They're super simple, snappy explainers, inspired by the Fireship YouTube channel, though he obviously does it way better. Each one encourages viewers to watch the next in the end screen, so the early videos flow into each other.
My first ever signup, a free member. It came through on BonusBandit, which made my brain hurt. I had already made the decision to roll BonusBandit into matchedbetting.au, so the first person signed up to the thing I was in the middle of winding down.
I realised matchedbetting.au was getting more impressions in Google, and I was getting mental fatigue trying to manage two websites that needed essentially the same content. So I made the decision to consolidate everything into matchedbetting.au.

My account got disabled on Vimeo. I was using it to upload walkthroughs I didn't want on YouTube, but they disabled my account. I looked at the terms and I hadn't broken any of them. But hey, whatever.
This was actually a blessing in disguise. I was about to sign up for a paid subscription, and it led me to discovering Cloudflare Stream, which is way better and way cheaper. So thanks for that, Vimeo.

Removed all the low quality content from the site and started rewriting high quality guides from scratch. It looked a bit sparse, but it was the right call.
Claude Max, Laravel Forge and the server, Cloudflare Stream, all four domain renewals, plus odds matching software. No income.

Created the Matched Betting AU community on Skool, the place where members get the guides, the tools and the support.

Started recycling the website guides into courses inside the Skool community.

matchedbetting.au Search Console impressions from launch to now. They start flat at zero, then you can see them gradually trending upwards. 1.84K so far. Slow, but heading in the right direction.

The first post in the Matched Betting AU Skool community. It's a simple welcome message. It's weak, and right now I'm the only member, but I wanted to get the ball rolling. I'll give it proper thought at some point.
