## What does my business do?

My website is a dedicated matched betting service called [MatchedBetting.au](https://matchedbetting.au). It provides software, education, and a community. It works on a freemium model. Users can sign up for free and use the software, guides and community. The paid version just unlocks more of what you can already do.

### What is matched betting?

Matched betting is a technique that allows you to extract risk free profits from bookmaker bonus and free bets. It works by placing bets to cover all outcomes of a sporting event, meaning that no matter what happens, you make a profit. For a super quick explanation, watch the video below.

## What does the website do?

The website provides all the tools and information you need to carry out matched betting. As it is a freemium subscription service, there are features that are free for everyone and others that are paid.

### Free for everyone

Almost all of it is free to use:

- Guides that explain everything you need to know and walk you through step by step.
- A free matched betting calculator that tells you how much money you need to stake on your bets.
- The odds matcher that tells you what to bet on to extract the most profit, limited to two bookmakers.

The free tier is deliberately generous. Because of the nature of what I'm selling, it's important to build trust, and the easiest way to do that is to let people use the service and see for themselves that it actually works and isn't a scam.

### Paid features

The only difference between the free tier and the paid tier is that paid users get access to more bookmakers in the odds matcher.

### Converting free users to paid users

Once users have gone through the process of extracting their first risk free profit using my software and guides, the idea is that a light bulb will have gone off in their head. They'll realise it's not a scam, and that they can actually make a lot of money. At that point it becomes a no brainer to upgrade to the paid plan, because once you've upgraded the earning potential jumps significantly.

## Video content

Video content is a huge part of this business. It's important because it helps to get across a complex idea in a simple way. I find people respond much better to video than to text alone, and it complements the written content on my website really well.

It's also good to have both options available. Some people like to follow along to a video, and some prefer to read. It ties in with the website in terms of SEO too, as it helps improve the general quality of the site and increases the amount of time people spend on it.

## The community

The community runs on the Skool platform. This community is also completely free to join and be involved in.

Inside there are courses I've put together from the existing content on the website. Part of why the community exists is exposure. It's a way to reach more people, get more eyeballs on the website, and turn that into signups.

But it's also meant to be genuinely useful. It's somewhere people can talk to me directly and get advice, and talk to other members who are doing the same thing. I think there's real value in being around like-minded people all working towards the same goal. I don't know exactly how it'll develop, but the hope is that it becomes a place people actually want to be, rather than just another way to get signups.

## Always evolving

This whole thing is still evolving, including this page. I'm in the very early days of getting signups, so I'm wide open to making big changes and trying new things as I go. If you want to see where I'm currently at on the journey, take a look at my [progress page](/progress).
